Dear New and Returning Lead Elementary School Families-       

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Lead Elementary! Our community welcomes all the new and returning families to our beautiful school as we prepare for the first day of the school year on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. We are especially excited to welcome a new group of Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten students joining us as Lead Owls! 

I am excited to be here as the new Principal of Lead Elementary. I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, by my Jamaican father and my German mother. I attended UCSC as an undergraduate & UCSB, where I obtained my teaching credential and M.Ed. I wrote my Master’s thesis on how to teach human rights in elementary classrooms. I have been an educator for over 25 years. Last year, I was the Assistant Principal at Laurel Elementary. I am passionate about anti-bias/anti-racist education and believe all students need to be seen and celebrated for the wonderful, diverse humans they are. My husband and I have two children (22 & 19) and a loveable dog named Luna. We have lived in San Mateo for 19 years.  I am excited to take on this new position and plan to make a positive impact in my new role.
