Welcome to First Grade! I am so excited to begin my 2nd year at LEAD! Last year was truly an amazing year for me. I not only loved my first year at LEAD, I also adopted my sweet baby boy, Riley, at the end of the year. I have always called my students my children, and it is simply the best to come home each night to my very own child. A very exciting new chapter of life has begun!
I have been teaching for 13 years and dreamed of being a teacher since I was 5 years old. I earned my teaching credential from SF State in 2004 and and my Masters in Teaching Reading (with a Reading Specialist certificate) in 2009. I have taught in grades K-3 and and started the first Kindergarten programs at two different schools. I also created the first ever reading intervention program at one of my former schools.
I am very excited to bring my Literacy background to first grade. My passion is to develop a love of reading and writing in my students.
I believe that children do much better in school when their families play an active role in their education and work to build a strong home school connection. I cannot wait to work together to provide your child with a strong academic foundation and a love of learning!
