Dear LEAD Families,
HAPPY MAY! The character trait of the month is Appreciation. We will be having our school wide Community Circle celebrating April’s trait, Community, at 8:00 Friday morning on the field. Please join us and our PBIS Team as we join school wide in this celebration. As our calendar changed quite a bit this year, please keep in mind that we have 7 more weeks of school with our last student learning day on June 21st. We are excited that we have that much more time left with our children! Our CAASPP testing is later as well so please refer to the dates below and ensure your children have had breakfast each day of testing and that they have had at least 10 hours of sleep. These are best practices every day as well! Our PTA will be providing healthy snacks during the testing days.
PTA: Many thanks to our PTA for continuing to build community engagement with a successful and fun Bingo Night that delighted students and families alike who enjoyed pizza and rounds of Bingo as well as great prizes such as a “Free Dress Pass for a Week” and “Principal for a Day! “ Congratulations to Juanita G. for winning the Free Dress Pass for her and a friend and Catalina M. who will be “Principal For A Day” with a friend on June 11th.
DIGITAL LITERACY AND ARTS INTEGRATION: Our 3rd Grade classes who work with their teachers, Lisa Hawkins, Elisabeth Glikbarg, Eleni Maynard and our magnet teacher, Felicia Howell, have produced remarkable student work that incorporates our monthly trait of appreciation. They used digital cameras, iPADs, Google Drivee, and Google Docs to complete their projects. Please come by the main office and enjoys samples of the student work on our interior Office Bulletin Board. Appreciation to all for this creative project.
As we continue to build community, communication and family engagement, here are some noteworthy events in May.
