The letter will indicate whether or not a conference is required; there is also a place to indicate if you would like to confer.

TK, K, New Student Registration Begins: It’s on a Saturday this year! February 27th from 9-1 in the LEAD office. Our most amazing office staff Denora Smith and Erika Hoole will be joining me here to register new families and students as well as Norma Ochoa from PIP, and Betty Di Matteo our bilingual paraprofessional. Spread the word and thanks to all! Please make sure to bring all necessary paperwork that day or before March 11th to ensure your child’s enrollment.

Tuesday, March 1st: San Mateo County Office of Education is sponsoring “Principal for A Day” at schools throughout San Mateo County. Principals are matched with community business and government leaders. LEAD Elementary is participating this year and San Mateo Mayor Joe Goethals will be “Principal for A Day” here! We are thrilled that he has made time out of his busy schedule to lead at LEAD! A schedule for his visit will be on the web site as the day approaches. 5th Grader Peyton J. will be joining Mayor Goethals as the Student “Principal for A Day.”

Thursday. February 11th, 6:30-8:00 PM LEAD Library: Superintendent Rosas will welcome members of our community to join her for coffee and conversation about the District - its goals, challenges, accomplishments and any issue related to education and the welfare of youth. This is a great opportunity to share feedback on your experience in San Mateo-Foster City schools. Parents, students and staff members are invited to attend this meeting to help guide our priorities as a district. Feedback will inform our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Dr. Rosas is looking forward to this coffee chat as a means of reconnecting with all of us around issues that affect the education and well-being of our students.

Helpful Information: At last Thursday night’s SMFCSD Board of Trustees meeting, the Board tabled the vote on the 2016-17 Calendar until the February 18 meeting. Personal Information: If you have a change in any of your personal information – address, home and cell numbers, email address, etc, please notify our wonderful school office assistant at, call at 650-312-7821 or come in between 8:05 and 2:00 daily.

Attendance: As we work together as a school community and District on attendance and on time arrivals to school, please understand that if your child has a fever or is vomiting, they should stay home and be free of fever or vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school. This allows all of those who are at school to remain healthy.

Congrats to Tony M. in Ms. Cheng’s fifth grade class who won a medal at the District math competition on Friday!

Happy Valentines’ Month!
